Mr PAUL BATTERSBY

An enthusiastic, well motivated and well qualified self-starter with experience in Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Lecturing, Complementary therapies, management and sports and fitness coaching, with very effective sales and marketing skills. Capable of maintaining all necessary records, accounts and correspondences. Has experience in internal and external verification procedures, consistently achieving a grade 2 on teaching observations including QAA and OFSTEAD observations.  

 


2018-Present clinical advisor for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). 2016-2018 President for the Federation of Holistic Therapists 2014-2016 Vice President for the Federation of Holistic Therapists 2010- Present Tutor for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) teaching acupuncture. 2009-Present a Director on the board for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). 2008-Present Regional rep for Wales for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). 2005- 2018 senior lecturer at Glyndwr University Wrexham in Chinese and Complementary Medicine. 2004-2005 Lecturing part-time at Salford University on the TCM Acupuncture Degree. 2001-2005 Lecturing full time at Stockport College as a programme manager for Holistic Therapies (VTCT) and Sports Therapy, lecturer on the Complementary therapies foundation degree (validated by University of Salford) and teaching several modules on the HND Health and Holistic therapies programme. Presently running own small business called Complementary Therapies Ltd, which offers a variety of therapies to the general public and several NHS trusts. Has in this time also worked as a sessional lecturer at NEWI Wrexham on the Traditional Chinese Medicine degree programme? 1998-2001 Studying, full-time at University of Salford for a BSc (Hons) degree, in Complementary Medicine Practice (Traditional Chinese Medicine) whilst, simultaneously setting up and successfully running own business, Complementary Therapies Ltd. 1997-1998 HGV Night Driver and full time student, studying Clinical Sports Therapy, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage diplomas at Stockport College. 1996-1997 Centre Supervisor for 34 Army Education Centre, Germany. Responsible for the educational stores and equipment, both expendable and non-expendable, IT equipment and accommodation stores in accordance with current accounting regulations. Whilst studying Physiotherapy part-time. 1994-1996 Staff Car Driver for the Commandant of Salmond House Training Centre, Germany. The duties involved driving for a senior Army executive, where each detail was precisely timed and involved the security of VIP’s when transporting them throughout Germany. Whilst studying Physiotherapy. 1993-1994 Driver for 10 PLSU Germany. The duties were driving for a Telecommunications Division. Responsible for a vehicle, its equipment and transporting Technicians throughout Germany. 1992-1993 Gym Manager of the Mercia Leisure Centre, Coventry. After leaving the army in 1992 I gained the position of Gym Manager. Responsible for both teaching and instructing the public and instructors in all aspects of physical activities. Whilst employed at the Gym, I advised my employer’s and on that advice they implemented several modifications to the Gym, which benefited both clients and the employer’s alike.
